Need to change where your DJI drone returns to land?
Maybe you have moved to a better spot or want to avoid obstacles in your original takeoff area. Yes, you can easily update your drone’s home point while it’s still flying.
This quick guide will show you the simple steps to change your home point using your controller, so you will never have to worry about your drone landing in the wrong place.
Easy Guide to Update Your DJI Drone’s Home Point
Step #1
While your drone is in the air, look at the DJI app interface on your phone or controller. Find the three dotted lines (in the top corner of the screen) and tap them to open the menu. In the menu, locate the “Safety” option and tap it.
Step #2
Under the Safety settings, you will see an option labeled “Update Home Point.” Tap it to start the process of setting a new home point for your drone.
Step #3
A map will appear, allowing you to pick the new home point. You can zoom in or out to get a better view of the area. For example, if you want to set a specific spot, like an open field or a safe landing zone, pinch to zoom and adjust the map until you find the perfect location.
Step #4
Once you have selected the desired spot, tap “OK” to lock it in. Make sure the area you have chosen isn’t in a restricted zone (like near an airport or no-fly zone) to avoid any issues.
Step #5
After confirming the location, go back to the main control screen in the app. Tap the “Go Home” and your drone will head to the new home point you just set.
Note!
Before finalizing, ensure the new home point is safe and clear of obstacles. If everything looks good, tap “OK” again to update the home point. Your drone is now set to return to this new location if needed.
That’s all!
Updating your DJI drone’s home point is quick and straightforward, letting you fly with peace of mind.
