Sometimes, you just need your Apple Watch to stop making noise, whether you’re in a meeting, at the movies, or trying not to wake someone up. Thankfully, muting your Apple Watch is quick and painless.
Here’s exactly how to do it without digging through complicated menus.
Step-by-Step Guide to Mute Your Apple Watch
- Open the App Library
Press the Digital Crown (the round button on the side of your watch) to go to the App Library. - Go to Settings
Find and tap the Settings app, it looks like a gray gear icon. - Tap on Sounds & Haptics
Scroll down until you see Sounds & Haptics, then tap on it. - Turn on Silent Mode
Toggle the switch for Silent Mode. This will instantly stop all sounds from coming out of your watch. - Lower the Volume (Optional)
You can also manually lower the alert volume by sliding the volume bar to the left. - Check the Control Center
Press the side button (below the crown) to open the Control Center.
Scroll down and tap the volume icon. Use the slider to lower the volume to zero if it’s not already muted.
That’s It!
You’ve now fully muted your Apple Watch. No more pings, rings, or unexpected sounds, just silent notifications and gentle vibrations. Perfect for staying connected without making a sound.
